A print-ready file is a file that meets all specifications required for high-quality printing. It’s typically a vector file that can go directly into the printing process without additional edits.
Print-Ready File Guidelines
1. Correct Format
Preferred formats: AI, EPS, SVG, or PDF
These formats include all necessary information (fonts, images, layout) for smooth printing.
Tip: If your file contains a specific font, either include the font or convert it to outlines. Read our full logo best practices here.
2. High Resolution
Graphics should be 300 dpi or higher for clarity and sharpness.
Vector graphics are infinitely scalable, so resolution isn’t an issue if your file is prepared correctly.
3. Proper Color Mode
Use CMYK (Cyan, Magenta, Yellow, Black) for print.
Avoid RGB, which is for digital screens.
4. Solid Colors Only
Logos should use solid colors only—no gradients or complex images.
This ensures the highest print quality, especially on small beauty product surfaces.
