Blanka’s listed prices do not include any applicable taxes, customs fees, brokerage fees, or duties. These charges are set by the destination country and are always the responsibility of the importer/recipient (you or your customer).
About Duties, Taxes, & Fees
Who Pays?
Blanka does not collect duties or import taxes at checkout, meaning all orders shipped from Blanka's facility are sent DDU (Delivered Duty Unpaid). When the shipment reaches the destination country, local customs may charge duties, taxes, and/or brokerage fees before releasing the package.
Your end-customer (or you, if you ship to yourself) is responsible for paying these charges directly to the carrier or customs authorities.
Customs Documentation
Blanka provides all required customs paperwork (for example: commercial invoices and product details) to help ensure smooth clearance. This helps reduce the risk of delays and minimize additional fees, however:
Customs processing, inspection, and any extra charges are fully controlled by the destination country’s authorities.
Blanka cannot guarantee that there will be no delays or additional fees.
Destination-based Fees
Duties and taxes are calculated based on the destination country of the package.
Canada & the US: Smaller orders shipping to Canada or the US often incur low or no additional duties or taxes, but this is not guaranteed.
EU & Other Regions: Shipments to the EU may be subject to VAT, and other regions may have similar consumption taxes or tariffs.
Regulatory Changes
Customs rules, tariffs, and tax thresholds are set and updated by each country’s government and may change without notice. Blanka does not control these charges.
Merchant Recommendations
We recommend informing your end-customers that customs duties or tariffs may apply, and that they are responsible for paying them. Consider including this information in your store policies or checkout process to avoid surprises.
What Happens if Customs Fees Are Refused?
If a package reaches customs and the customer refuses to pay the required duties, taxes, or brokerage fees, the local customs authority or carrier may:
Return the package to sender
Hold or abandon it
Destroy it, depending on local regulations and carrier policies
In these cases:
Refused or unclaimed shipments are sometimes returned to Blanka, but this is not guaranteed.
If the shipment is returned, Blanka may explore options to reship at the merchant’s expense (including any return shipping, storage, or additional handling fees).
Please note: Orders refused due to unpaid customs, duties, or taxes are not eligible for a refund.
