To set up shipping on Shopify, follow these steps:

  1. Access Your Shopify Admin: Log in to your admin panel.

  2. Go to Shipping Settings: Click on Settings > Shipping and delivery:

  3. Review Your Store Address: Ensure your store's address is accurate. If you are using Blanka as your fulfilment centre you'll want to make sure it's Blanka's address: Unit 1, 1380 Napier St. Vancouver, BC V5L 2P6, Canada.

*Note that for some apps (such as Blanka) when you connect your store the location could automatically be synced already.

4. Activate your shipping markets

  • You will need to create 4 shipping markets to match Blanka's flat rate shipping.

    • North America

    • UK and France

    • Rest of EU, Asia, South America and Africa

    • Oceania

  • To activate a shipping market go to "Markets" -> "Add Market".

  • Name the Market for example 'UK and France' and add those countries to the market.

Once activated, select shipping to take you to set up your shipping zones.

5. Set up your shipping zones.

Now you should have your 4 markets with the areas you ship to, you need to now add them as 4 separate shipping zones and set the price based on Blanka's flat rates:

  • Create Shipping Zones: Set up shipping zones to allow shipping to different regions, states, and countries:

  • Select the shipping zone for example 'North America' you'd add in United States and Canada.

  • The North American flat shipping rate is $8.99, so we add a shipping rate and set up a non-conditional shipping zone to the United States for $8.99.

  • Continue to do this for the additional markets you want to add. For example, if you want to ship to Australia, activate Oceania as a market with Australia added and then add the rate of $25.99. If you don't specify the rate for a market, your customers won't be able to ship there.

6. Test Your Shipping Rates: After setting everything up, conduct a test to ensure the rates are calculated correctly at checkout

Of course you don't need to use Blanka's flat rate and can come up with your own shipping strategy instead, just know that is the only amount you will be ever charged by Blanka for those regions.

  • Example shipping strategies:

    • Offer free shipping by factoring in the cost of shipping with the product cost. In this case you would set the rate to $0 for all shipping zones and call it 'Free Shipping'.

    • You can match Blanka's flat rate shipping cost with your own shipping cost (as seen in examples above):

    • Free shipping based on Average Order Value.

      • For example, you can offer free shipping on all orders over $100. Make sure you add this to each of your shipping zones!
